Coming home is often the part people forget to plan. After a long flight, the last thing you want is to queue for a car.
You can book your return when you book your outbound journey, or separately. Give us your flight number and we monitor the flight, so if it lands early or late, your driver’s pickup time is adjusted to match. Airport pickups include a 30-minute free waiting period.
Meet and greet is available on request. Your driver will wait in arrivals with a name board, help with your bags and walk you to the car. It’s particularly useful if you’re travelling with children, arriving after a long-haul flight or collecting a visitor who doesn’t know the area.
That matters for more than airport runs. It covers night shifts at the hospital, early starts at warehouses around Hyde and Ashton Moss, late trains into Piccadilly, and getting home safely when the buses have stopped.
For anything very early or very late, pre-booking is still the best option. It means a driver is lined up for you in advance.
Call A Car operates private hire vehicles. Under Tameside Council’s licensing rules, private hire vehicles must be pre-booked through a licensed operator. Unlike black cabs (hackney carriages), they can’t legally be flagged down in the street.
In practice, that just means you book through us, by phone, online or the app, rather than waving down a car. The council also points out that a flagged-down private hire journey isn’t insured, so always book through an operator.
