Local Rides & 24/7 Airport Transfers

Manchester Airport Business Travel | Corporate Airport Transfers

The 6am departure is where corporate travel arrangements get tested. Everything else on the itinerary has a fallback. The flight is booked, the hotel is booked, the meeting is in the diary. The car is the one link in the chain where, if it does not turn up, nothing else in the day happens.

That is the part we handle. Call A Car has been running business airport transfers in Manchester out of Denton since 1970, and airport work is the busiest thing we do. This page covers how we handle corporate travel: the account, the vehicles, what happens when a flight is delayed, and how it works when you are arranging travel for somebody else.

Booking for Executives, Employees and Directors

Most corporate airport taxi bookings we take are not made by the person travelling. They are made by an assistant, an office manager, a PA, or whoever ended up owning travel in a small company.

That person has a specific problem. They are arranging a journey they will not be on, for someone whose time is expensive, and they will hear about it if it goes wrong. What they need is not a nicer car. It is confidence that the thing they arranged three weeks ago will happen exactly as arranged, and a way of doing it that does not require rebuilding the booking from scratch every time.

A corporate taxi account with us handles that. Once a company is registered, any employee can book against the account. There is no card to enter, no expense claim to file afterwards, and no need for whoever is arranging it to have their own payment details in the system. Regular routes and regular travellers become repeat bookings rather than new ones.

If you would rather speak to a person, our office is staffed 24 hours a day on 0161 320 7117. For anyone arranging an unusual journey or a first booking for a new traveller, that is usually quicker than any form.

Collecting Visiting Clients from Manchester Airport

A client airport pickup is a different job from moving your own staff, and it is worth treating it as one.

Your client has been on a plane. They do not know Manchester Airport, they may not know Manchester, and the first thing they experience of your company is whatever happens in the twenty minutes after they clear customs. Getting that right is disproportionately valuable, and getting it wrong is remembered.

Two things make the difference.

Meet and greet. Your client walks out of arrivals to a driver holding a board with their name on it, who takes their bags. They do not ring anyone, look for anyone, or walk out to a car park. Our meet and greet service explains how it works in detail.

The right car. For a client collection, our Mercedes E-Class does a different job to a standard saloon. Details are on our executive transfers page.

Worth knowing what the alternative looks like. Some local firms hold your booking and only dispatch a car once the passenger rings them or checks in at a desk in the terminal. Both Lynx and Street Cars work this way. That is fine for someone who knows the drill. It is a poor first impression for a client landing from abroad who now has to make a phone call before anyone comes for them.

Flight Monitoring and Delayed Arrivals

Business flights get delayed at least as often as leisure ones, usually at worse moments.

We track every inbound flight on an airport booking. When a flight moves, the pickup moves with it automatically. Nobody needs to ring us, and the traveller does not need to do anything when they land except collect their bags and walk out.

There is no charge for waiting caused by an airline delay. That is not a concession, it is just how fixed fares work. You are paying for the journey rather than the time, so a two hour delay costs the same as an on-time arrival.

For office-to-airport journeys in the other direction, the variable is traffic rather than the airline. Our drivers run the airport route from Tameside multiple times a day and build the pickup time around the actual conditions for that hour, not a satnav estimate. On a fixed fare, sitting in traffic costs you nothing extra either.

Vehicles for Business Travel

Three options cover almost all corporate bookings.

Saloon or estate for everyday staff travel. This is most of what we do and it is the sensible default for a colleague heading to a conference.

Mercedes E-Class where the car matters, which usually means client collections, directors, or long journeys. Three passengers comfortably, two medium check-in cases. Fixed fare rather than the hourly rate a chauffeur firm would quote. Full detail on the executive transfers page.

Minibus for corporate group airport transfers, seating up to eight. If you are sending a team to the same flight, one vehicle costs less than three, everyone arrives together, and there is one pickup to coordinate rather than several. See minibus hire.

If a booking involves a lot of luggage, exhibition materials, or equipment, say so when you book and we will send something with the boot space rather than discovering the problem on the pavement.

Corporate Accounts, Invoicing and Journey Records

The account is what makes repeat corporate travel manageable rather than a monthly admin job.

You get monthly invoicing rather than paying per journey, and journey reports so you can see what was booked, by whom, and for what. That is the difference between reconciling a pile of individual receipts and reading one statement.

Once a company is registered, all employees can book against the account. You are not setting up individual profiles or distributing payment details.

We run account work for NHS contracts, council accounts and private sector clients across Greater Manchester, so this is established rather than something we are building out. Full details are on our business accounts page, and our broader corporate travel service page covers what we handle beyond airport work.

Which Terminal, and Where the Car Waits

Worth a check, because a lot of corporate travel policies and saved itineraries are out of date.

Manchester Airport now has two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 closed permanently on 19 November 2025, and the former T1 entrance was rebranded as Terminal 3 Departures in March 2026.

Terminal 2 handles the large majority of flights, including easyJet, Jet2, TUI, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic. See our Terminal 2 taxi service page.

Terminal 3 is primarily Ryanair plus short-haul and domestic routes. See our Terminal 3 taxi transfers page.

On arrivals, vehicles cannot wait outside the terminal. The forecourt is drop-off only and camera enforced, so standard collections happen inside the multi-storey car parks, signposted P3 at Terminal 2 and P14 at Terminal 3. For a client or a director, meet and greet removes that walk entirely.

Give us the airline alongside the flight number when you book. The airline is what tells us the terminal, and it is more reliable than a booking reference that predates the closure.

Areas We Cover

We run business transfers from across Tameside and East Manchester, including Denton, Hyde, Audenshaw, Ashton-under-Lyne, Dukinfield, Droylsden, Stalybridge, Gorton, Reddish and Bredbury, plus Manchester city centre, Stockport, Salford and Trafford.

Airport-to-office and airport-to-hotel journeys are handled the same way as any other transfer. If a visiting client is going straight from arrivals to a meeting or a hotel, give us the destination when you book and the driver takes them directly there.

For journeys involving rail, we also cover Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Stockport stations.

Beyond Manchester, we run business transfers to Liverpool John Lennon, Leeds Bradford, Birmingham, Newcastle, Gatwick and Stansted. The full list is on our airport transfers page.

Arranging a Business Transfer

Call 0161 320 7117. Staffed 24 hours a day, every day. For setting up an account, arranging an executive vehicle, or anything non-standard, this is the fastest route because you can just ask.

Book through the app or online. Once an account is set up, routine journeys go through in a couple of minutes.

For standard transfers, a few hours’ notice is usually enough. For early morning departures, executive vehicles, or anything during school holidays, give us 24 hours or more. Executive vehicles in particular are limited in number, so the earlier the better.

Whichever route you use, the three things worth including are the flight number, the airline, and the final destination if it is not a home address.

Corporate Airport Taxi FAQs

Can a company book a taxi to Manchester Airport for an employee?

Yes. That is most of what our account work is. Once a company has an account with us, employees can be booked in without needing to arrange or pay for anything themselves.

Can multiple employees use one corporate taxi account?

Yes. Register the company once and all employees can book against it. You do not need separate accounts per person.

Do you provide monthly invoicing?

Yes. Account customers are invoiced monthly rather than paying per journey, and you receive journey reports alongside the invoice.

What records do we get for our journeys?

Journey reports showing what was booked and when, plus a monthly invoice. That gives you one document to reconcile instead of individual receipts.

Do you collect visiting clients from Manchester Airport?

Yes, and it is worth pairing with meet and greet so your client is met inside arrivals rather than directed to a car park. An executive vehicle is usually the right choice for a client collection.

Do you monitor delayed business flights?

Yes, on every airport booking. If a flight moves, the pickup moves with it automatically and there is no charge for the delay.

Are executive vehicles available for business travel?

Yes, a Mercedes E-Class on a fixed fare. Three passengers comfortably and two medium check-in cases. For four or more travellers, an estate or a minibus is the better booking.

Can you transport a business group with luggage?

Yes. Our minibuses take up to eight passengers and are usually cheaper than multiple cars for the same group. Tell us about the luggage when you book so we send the right vehicle.

Can I book an airport-to-office or airport-to-hotel transfer?

Yes. Give us the destination when you book and the driver takes the passenger straight there from arrivals.

How far in advance should a corporate airport transfer be booked?

A few hours is usually fine for a standard transfer. For early departures, executive vehicles or peak periods, 24 hours or more. Executive vehicles are limited in number so book those earlier where you can.

Set Up a Business Account

If your company moves people through Manchester Airport more than occasionally, an account takes the admin out of it: one monthly invoice, journey reports, and any employee able to book.

Call 0161 320 7117 to set one up, or see our business accounts page. We have been running this route out of Denton since 1970.
